Description
Long, white, tapering root produces a 2-3 foot high stem in the 2nd year. It has abundant leaves that are long stalked and oblong toward the root and smaller, lanceolate and short stalked near the top. Flowers are small and white with terminal racemes from the leaf axils.
Common Uses
When taken regularly, horseradish can help build up resistance to coughs and colds. It is also able to help reduce bronchial complaints and relieve sinus pain. It is richer in vitamin C than orange or lemon.

Common Uses
Wood betony is used to treat headaches and facial pain. It is also mildly sedative, relieving nervous stress and tension. Taken in combination with other herbs, it is effective against sinus headaches and congestion. It also stimulates the digestive system and liver, and has an overall tonic effect on the body.

Description
Reddish, erect, branched stems up to 2-3 feet high. Peppermint's leaves are hairy, sharply serrated, and are green to reddish-green. Whorled clusters of reddish flowers form loose spikes at leaf axils.
Common Uses
Peppermint is used for colds, flu, and fevers, and contains antioxidants to help the heart and circulatory system. Containing menthol, an anesthetic, peppermint is effective for soothing sore throats.
