Description
A handsome, sticky-shiny dark green shrub, up to 8 feet in height, but usually around waist to chest high. It grows on ridges and slopes from the north coastal range of California as far south as Monterey County, up into southern Oregon and down the west side of the Sierra Nevadas from near Mount Lassen to almost as far as Tehachapi.
Common Uses
Excellent decongestant, used for any lung or sinus condition that is juicy, hypersecretory and gaggy. It decreases secretions and lessens the underlying inflammation. It dilates the bronchial tubes which makes it excellent for asthma and hay fever.

Description
Variable perennial with a knotted rhizome and upright stems. Yellow flowers are born in the summer, followed by brown fruits with a tuft of short, white hairs.
Common Uses
Because it is an antioxidant, diuretic, and astringent, goldenrod is a valuable remedy for urinary tract disorders. The diuretic effect is very helpful for cases of colon bacilli. The saponins act specifically against the Candida fungus, the cause of yeast infections and oral thrush.
