Description
Yellow dock is a common weed, found nearly world-wide. It quickly inhabits cultivated ground and grows along road sides producing copious quantities of seed each fall.
Common Uses
Yellow dock has the reputation of being a liver tonic, gall bladder tonic, and the best organic source of iron available. The root has diuretic properties, increasing urine production and elimination of toxins via the urinary system. It can be used for gout, cystitis, water retention, and urinary stones and gravel.

Description
Yarrow has low growing leaves with straight flower stalks, and a height of up to 3 feet and a width of up to 1 foot. The flowers are tight groups of tiny, 1/4-inch white flowers, clustered in 3-inch umbels on stiff, upright stems.
Common Uses
Due to the flavonoids they contain, yarrow flowers encourage circulation, lower blood pressure, and help stop bleeding anywhere in the body. It also helps relieve urinary tract infections and stones.

Description
The greater plantain is usually perennial, and survives the winter by means of its short rootstock set with long fibrous roots. The five to seven-veined leaves are all arranged in a basal rosette that lies flat on the ground. It blooms from May to August.
Common Uses
Taken internally, common plantain is a diuretic, expectorant, and decongestant. It is commonly prescribed for gastritis, peptic ulcers, diarrhea, dysentery, irritable bowel syndrome, respiratory congestion, loss of voice, and urinary tract bleeding.

Description
Tall spreading stems with a height of 4 feet and a width of 2-3 feet. It has bright yellow, button-like flowers and feather, fern-like, multi-divided leaves. It is very pungent and blooms July to September.
Common Uses
The constituent thujone kills intestinal roundworms and threadworms, scabies, and heals other infected skin conditions. Very small doses have been used to treat epilepsy and to encourage menstruation. Tansy has been used externally with benefit for some eruptive diseases of the skin, and the green leaves, when pounded and applied to skin, relieve sprains and allay the swelling.
