Description

Sprawling, perennial shrub with large, heart-shaped leaves and flowers resembling small ears of corn. Height: Up to 20 feet. Native to the South Pacific.




Common Uses

In multiple clinical studies, Kava Kava has proven helpful in the treatment of anxiety, nervousness, and stress in menopausal women. In pharmacological studies, Kava Kava has shown itself to be a reliable pain reliever and muscle relaxant. It has been shown to be non-addictive with few side-effects. WARNING: FOR ADULT USE ONLY. History

In the South Pacific, kava has been used as a calming agent at weddings and tribal meetings, and is often used to resolve arguments peacefully. The first kava products appeared in Europe in the 1860s.
