Paprika

Description

Spice made from ground peppers, in various grades depending on which parts of the pepper plant are used.




Common Uses

Common paprika is the mildest form of cayenne, but it has the highest concentration of vitamin C. It also contains vitamin A, iron, potassium, and niacin.




History

Paprika (or Hungarian pepper) is used widely as a seasoning in Hungary. It was once used in bird feed to improve the color of canaries.
